Date: Mon Feb 26, 2001 11:53pm I TAKE ZOLOFT NOW BUT MY HANDS AND FEET ARE STILL NUMB FROM 1 PAXIL PILL 20 MG ONE DAY AND 1/2 FOR FOUR MORE DAYSFIRST PILL TAKEN ON 1/31/2001. SO MY SYMPTOMS HAVE NOT GONE AWAY AND THE DOCTOR THINKS I AM LYING ABOUT IT, THAT IT JUST CANNOT BE. Pamela Date: Tue Feb 27, 2001 0:15am Response1: FIND A NEW DOCTOR!! NOW BEFORE THIS GUY KILLS YOU!! Trisha Date: Tue Feb 27, 2001 0:22am Response2: Hi Pamela, And welcome to the group. Well we believe you and you are not the only one ! Many members of our group reported this side effect from SSRI's. You've got to give it some time to heal and I can imagine this must be very frustrating after taking just 1 pill of Paxil. I think there were some members who reported that they could not even feel the water falling down on their skin when they took a shower. Charly Date: Tue Feb 27, 2001 11:58pm Response3: I couldn't feel the water running on me in the shower, nor could I taste food for about 1-2 months after stopping Cipramil (Celexa). Debbie Date: Tue Feb 27, 2001 0:48am I WAS DIAGNOSED AS HAVING MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS AND THEY THINK BECAUSE I HAVE CRIED AT THEIR OFFICE TWICE, AND MY JOB HAS BEEN HORRIBLE FOR THE LAST THREE MONTHS ,WITH SOMEONE ELSE BEING OUT SICK FROM AN OPERATION ,THAT I SHOULD TAKE ZOLOFT TO COPE. IT HASN'T SEEMED TO AFFECT ME AND I TOOK NOTHING FOR ONE WEEK BETWEEN THE PAXIL AND THE ZOLOFT. DOES ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE HAVE MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS AND THEY PRESCRIBED ANTI- DEPRESSANTS ? AND WILL THIS NUMBNESS EVER GO AWAY ? WILL THE INOSITOL VITAMINS HELP ME ? Pamela Date: Tue Feb 27, 2001 3:43am Response: Pamela, if you are taking another SSRI, other then the Paxil, it too can be contributing to your problems. Take care, Cynthia Date: Tue Feb 27, 2001 12:10pm Great ! I better decide to get off of this too ! Pamela Date: Thu Mar 1, 2001 5:22am Response: Pamela, Dr. Peter Breggin has a website: www.breggin.com He's also the expert witness for the CA public interest lawsuit regarding Paxil. This is all on his website. His book (mentioned earlier by Patrick?) is titled "Your Drug May Be Your Problem: How and Why to Stop Taking Psychiatric Medications". I've been reading it, and it's very good. I've also heard a lot about Dr. Ann Tracey and her book, and Dr. Joseph Glenmullen's book too, but haven't started reading them yet... Renee
